Fridays of the Universe

venerdibanner.pngFounded in 2000, Fridays of the Universe is a series of in-depth seminars on Astronomy and Astrophysics. The aim is to reach a broad audience, particularly young people, in the hope of helping them develop curiosity and inspiration for their professional and amateur studies.

To follow scientific and technological advances and innovations in various fields of knowledge, Fridays has gradually evolved into an event dedicated to scientific dissemination in the broadest sense of the term: from astrophysics and astronomy to the study of the microscopic world, from medicine to biology, from energy to the environment. Guests at Fridays have included researchers and leading figures in the scientific field, who have shared the results of their work, important scientific discoveries, and, above all, their passion for research.

The Fridays of the Universe are organized by a committee whose current composition is as follows:

Chair: Prof. Massimiliano Fiorini

Dott. Mattia Bulla, Dott. Paolo Cardarelli, Dott.ssa Martina Gerbino, Sig. Michele Parise, Prof Enzo Rizzo, Prof. Federico Spizzo

Other activities in collaboration with INFN

Thanks to its nationwide presence, the Ferrara Section of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics also collaborates on several national Third Mission projects for the dissemination of scientific knowledge to society.

The Department of Physics and Earth Sciences supports INFN's activities aimed at transferring knowledge to children, young people, teachers, and the general public.

PE Unife

The Department of Physics and Earth Sciences coordinates one of the University-funded Public Engagement projects, which aims to strengthen and develop related activities that engage citizens, fostering the dissemination of knowledge beyond the academic context. These activities are characterized by originality, a multidisciplinary approach, and a particular focus on the impacts and benefits produced on the local community and society.
