Commissioned research
The Department of Physics and Earth Sciences conducts extensive commissioned research for companies and public entities. These activities are typically governed by contractual agreements approved by the Department Council and have a DFST member as the Scientific Coordinator.
Commissioned research typically addresses topics of specific interest to the Client, for which the specific expertise of DFST staff can offer solutions. In some cases, these activities may involve Technology Transfer.
The DFST offers companies and public entities the opportunity to utilize its laboratories through third-party services according to a Department fee schedule or based on contact with laboratory coordinators.
The DFST's policy is to facilitate collaboration with companies and public entities for commissioned research and fee-based services as much as possible.
